Hidden attractions of Birmingham
Perhaps surprisingly Birmingham has a castle and a few very old buildings in alongside many other attractions for visitors to see. Birmingham's image as a drab industrial city dominated by car is simply not true. No more ruined factories, warehouses and monstrous concrete blocks, which were replaced by modern buildings and elegant and now form the basis for a rejuvenated and vibrant city. Birmingham has also benefited from the inheritance she must in the era Industrial, which together with the introduction and development of new exciting attractions, allowing visitors to the city full of choice.

The jewel in the crown of museums in Birmingham should be the museum Birmingham and Art Gallery, located on Chamberlain Square behind City Hall. The Art Gallery has the largest collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings in the world, alongside the old masters and impressionists. The Pre-Raphaelite collection includes works by Ford Maddox Brown, Burne-Jones, Rossetti, Millais and Holman Hunt. The museum itself is home to archaeological exhibitions and displays natural and social history. The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter is exactly As its name indicates. Housed in what was the Smith & Pepper factory jewelry on Vyse Street, it provides a snapshot of working conditions and practices the mid-20th century. Most machines and tools that were used when the factory closed before the date of the 20th century, with some exhibits dating back 200 years.
Aston Hall is one of the oldest buildings in the city, it is known that a manor house has been on site since 1386. This 400 years old mansion located in 21 acres of parkland next to the football club Aston Villa and has some fine Jacobean plasterwork and a gallery of 120 m long decorated with tapestries of the 17th century. On the walls outside you can still see the marks left by bullets and cannon balls from the Civil War English. Held by Matthew Boulton, a member of the Lunar Society, Soho House was the first house with central heating in the country as well as being a greenhouse hot ideas of the Industrial Revolution! Sarehole Mill, a suburb of Hall Green, is popular as a museum to show how a mill would have worked and due to its link with JR Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
While almost hidden in the suburbs of the same name east of Birmingham Weoley Castle. In truth, not much remains of what was really more of a fortified house of the 13th century moated manor. However, excavations have revealed an earlier 11th century castle on the site. Selly Manor and Blakesley Hall are two of the oldest buildings in Birmingham that visitors may well find interesting. Finally, you should contact the Museum Collection Center to arrange a visit, but if you're lucky enough for them to have a day doors open when you can be there, you'll see a fascinating collection of objects that appear periodically in various museums in the city.
Moving too far outside the city there are many attractions nearby. A Solihull is the National Motorcycle Museum, while the castle Warwick history can be reached in about 45 minutes as can be Stratford-Upon-Avon, with all its associations and history of William Shakespeare and theater Shakespeare.
