What should I serve the salad with grilled steak and baked potatoes twice?

I make this meal for my fiance, he is German and has never potatoes were cooked twice, it's special. What kind of salad goes best with this meal. I make the chocolate fondant for dessert, as he likes chocolate.

Caramalized Onion Salad Dressed Hazelnut Ingredients 1 / 2 cup hazelnuts whole peeled 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), divided 1 large onion, finely chopped Salt and pepper 3 tablespoons tablespoons balsamic vinegar, divided (eyeball it) tomatoes 1 / 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard 3 plum, sliced 4 cups spinach large baby arugula or a different green for your choice of blue cheese 1 / 4 cup crumble Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Place hazelnuts on a baking sheet and place in oven to toast up, about 10-12 minutes - the nose will know when they are made. Remove from oven and cool. Run your knife through them once, cut coarsely. While nuts are toasting, place a large skillet over medium-high with 2 turns of the pan of EVOO, 2 tablespoons. Add onions, season with some salt and pepper and cook, stirring often for 10 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar and a big splash of water. Use a wooden spoon to loosen the juices on the bottom of the pan and cook for about 1 minute. Remove the onions from the pan and transfer to a bowl. Add remaining vinegar and mustard in bowl and whisk the remaining EVOO in a slow, steady steam. In a bowl, combine the tomatoes, greens, nuts cool, and blue cheese crumble. Pour the caramelized onion dressing over salad and toss to coat. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Yields 2 servings
