Chocolate Wellies
Why is it that we feel nostalgic / sad when our children were small?
My children are now 9 and 12 and driving home Yesterday I noticed that the leaves were changing color and remember when I take them as toddlers through the park raising the leaves and see them blow up the newspapers with their rubber boots and little hats and gloves, then take them home for hot chocolate and snuggled in their blankets soft. I know they are not big, big yet and I can still do a lot with them - but why do I feel pain like this? Admittedly, I'm glad they are happier and more confident and very nice and I'm happy, but he also draws my heart when I see their old toys lying with unread and gathering dust. Why?
it is because they have left good memories.
