Asked about shipping food internationally?
Hey guys, I have a friend in Germany who wants me buy him a lot of beef jerkey (weird I know), and then shipped to him. This will cause problems with American customs or German? Is it allowed? Moreover, the subject shipment of chocolate from Germany to the United States, is that ok?
That should happen because it is a food that has already been processed. The only time you really have a problem is when it fresh fruit or vegetables. Countries do not allow that since they can carry pests that can then enter their crops. The only problem you may have with chocolate is that it could melt. When the ship chocolate manufacturer abroad, they must use refrigerated containers. I was also at the receiving end of melted chocolate from Holland! It does not seem as good, but it tastes the same! I work in the food export business and we will send samples to customers overseas all the time without any problems. I think you're good to go!
