How can you make hot chocolate from real chocolate, use a powder, chunks, melt it, or mix?

I'm to make hot chocolate from real chocolate, but all it does isfloat around. My aunt went to France and says their is thick as melted chocolate real. How can I do? So far I have tried ... melted chocolate, hot water, milk, milk powder, hot chocolate and chocolate melted chocolate powder hot water, hot chocolate milk powder, water, milk and chocolate, chopped

To make a true French style chocolatete hot, Melt about half a block of chocolate in a saucepan. When it is smooth, add about a cup 1 / 4 of cream or rich milk fat and mix. If you wish, add a drizzle of flavored liqueur. Makes about 4. I highly recommend having water at hand:)
