What can you milk a goat?

I am often asked: What can you do with goat's milk as well as soap and lotion? Well, almost everything you would with regular cow's milk can be made with goat's milk cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter, etc. You can also add liquid or powder to recipes for everything fudge cream soap for your skin!

After several people have asked this question, I started searching on the Internet. We scoured the local shops - stores country agricultural markets, etc. We chose the brain goatherds dairy. We found lots of recipes for cheese, and tons of other things. You can make mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, cultures for cheese making, goat's milk based, and more. We even found a few recipes online other goat keepers milk. Most dairy goat sell goat milk, goat milk butter, and several varieties of goat cheeses.

You can replace goat milk products in all of your favorite recipes for milk. If you are interested in making your own goat milk cheese, cream ice or yogurt, be sure to see some of our recipes below or you can do a search on Google for your own.

Like most Dairy goat milk can be frozen. Canned or powdered goat milk should be frozen reconstituted plastic or glass to enough room at the top of the expansion. It is recommended that you thaw your frozen milk in the fridge and use it within seven (7) days after have been thawed. To maintain good flavor, do not freeze goat milk for more than two months. Simple Soft cheese: This is an easy recipe that requires only 1 / 2 gallon of raw goat milk, lemon juice strained from the medium 2, a thermometer capable of the range 180-200 ° F some cheese (cotton cloth to spend a lot of work), and coarse salt (kosher or sea salt). For larger curds, milk and heat in the 190 before coagulation. Experience with temperature curdling and drying time for the cheese that meets your needs.

Cajeta (Mexican caramel candy)
3 quarts of goat milk
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 cups sugar
¼ c. teaspoon baking soda
Dissolve baking soda and starch corn in 1 cup of milk. Stir well to dissolve any lumps. Add remaining milk and add sugar. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, for the cooking. Cook until the mixture is thick and looks like caramel sauce. Pour into jars, let cool and refrigerate. This makes a great topping for ice cream and a splash of apple is delicious!

Caramel
3 cups sugar
2 / 3 cup goat milk
3 / 4 cup margarine
6 oz chocolate chips
7 oz marshmallow cream
1 tsp tea. vanilla flavoring
Mix sugar, milk and margarine in a heavy bottomed sauce quarter. Stirring constantly, bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue boiling five minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add marshmallow cream and vanilla, beating until well blended. Pour into a mold 9 X 13 pan. Cool to room temperature. You can also add nuts, if desired. Enjoy!
