Melting Chocolate Shortening
To make chocolate filling for cupcakes, should I use chocolate syrup, cocoa or melted chocolate chips?
I have a recipe for vanilla filling, it uses shortening, powdered sugar and marsh mellow cream, but I want to make chocolate. Thanks.
Use the vanilla recipe, but melt some semi-sweet chocolate chips in a double boiler and mix it in with the recipe you have. You could even leave out the the marshmallow cream and just add vanilla extract. It saves you money by not buying the cream and people usually already have vanilla in their kitchen.
