If I sub. coconut extract for vanilla in a recipe, can I use the same amount?

I am a cheesecake truffle chocolate. It calls for 2 tablespoons tea. vanilla extract. I was thinking about using coconut instead. Should I use the same amount? If yes is this true for any abstract substitutions? Thank you!

Yes, you must use the same amount, which would be true for any part replacement you want according to the strength you want the taste to be. liqueurs I substitute vanilla fudge all the time and I tend to use more liquor than me vanilla because I want a stronger taste. SAC
