The answer is: [n] + [(n-1) / 6] where [n] is the greatest integer less than or equal to n. Here's why: It is $ 7 for the first chocolate bar extra. After that, you have a coupon (in Chocolate bar not included), and it takes only $ 6 more for the extra chocolate bar next from there. Thus, you get an extra chocolate bar for $ 7, 13 $ 19, $ 25, $ (6n +1), etc. PS This equation is exact for n> = 1. If n = 0, you get 0 bars of chocolate (of course!)
