Books Chocolate
Can anyone tell me some similarities and differences between the books of 1984 and the chocolate war?
.... is basically why my question. I really appreciate the help Thank you !!!!!!
The main similarity is that in both stories our protaginist acts in defiance of the established order of things. In 1984, the government, and his rebellion is Thoughtcrime. In The Chocolate War is rebellion against the established order ETH schools of social structure (both that of the clique High Schoo vigils and the tolerance of teachers among them). And in both stories of the old "I fought authority and authority always wins" on stage. In both stories the main character fights the good fight and assumed in the loops of the end under pressure and caves in order "just things". The differences, besides those residing in cosmetic form and the reasoning of the rebellion, as well as caving in. In 1984 he became clear that the protagonist is just revolting to rebel (not that he had no good reason), but the reason was simply pleased to be able to say no. Also I would like to stress that he kept his secret rebellion. Conversely in the chocolate war ETH our protagonist seems to be moved more by the noblest intentions tall, and he made his very public disobedience. Also in 1984 the established order, as vile as it may seem, had good reasons for its existence. In the chocolate war vigils group meeting very two dimensional and seems to serve no real purpose organized (although the teachers' desire not to rock the boat did.) Another similarity is the character of the teacher, we think first in chocolate war as a friend, but at the end as an enemy as he looks to our hero wins traces of beatings. This character is very similar to one in 1984 and became friends actaully misleads our protagonist only later to be revealed as a government agent. A difference that would be contempt of protaginist in 1984 was actaully triggered by the government itself as a way to get the poor populace and "fix" them. In the chocolate war, rebellion, Jerry is not in the evenings or brothers, and in fact hurts them. And one more for the road ..... at the end of the war jerry chocolate wishes he had not tried to Buck the system and is a slave beaten dog. In 1984, our main character is more than that was, and in fact is grateful to the very heart of his being that he has been redone, and the disease f distrust was removed itself. These two books remind us, however, that the Town Hall .... always wins ... at the end.
