Southern Sweet Chocolate Pie

1 package (4 ounces) sweet cooking chocolate
1 / 4 cup butter
1 2 / 3 cup evaporated milk
1 1 / 2 cups sugar
3 c. tablespoons cornstarch
1 / 8 c. Tea salt
2 eggs
1 tsp Tea Vanilla
Flooding 1 pie crust 10-inch
1 1 / 3 cups flaked coconut
1 / 2 cup pecans minced

In a saucepan over low heat, mix the chocolate and butter, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and mix gradually evaporated milk. Mix in a medium bowl combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Beat in eggs and vanilla, then blend in gently chocolate mixture. Pour mixture into pie shell unbaked. Combine coconut and pecans and sprinkle over the chocolate mixture. Bake at 375 degrees 45 to 50 minutes or until puffed and golden. Cover with foil during last 15 minutes of cooking if the filling seems to have become too brown. Allow to cool for at least 4 hours before serving, allowing the filling to set. Garnish with spoonfuls of whipped cream to serve.
