I want to bake cupcakes with chocolate and coffee. Can I take a box of chocolate and instant coffee mix in water?

I do not want a strong coffee flavor. In the box chocolate cake mix that calls for 1 and 1 / 3 cup water. I could not dissolve a bit of instant coffee espresso / water to give the cupcakes a hint of the aroma of coffee and kicking? Or would this mess with the chemicals and how wet and dry ingredients react together?

YES, instant coffee or instant coffee added to the water. I also make them stronger by adding the best ground Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee! It is a good coffee for cooking:)
